Sad News.
Please join me in remembering a great icon of the entertainment
community. The Pillsbury Doughboy died yesterday of a yeast infection
and trauma complications from repeated pokes in the belly. He was 71.
Doughboy was buried in a lightly greased coffin. Dozens of celebrities
turned out to pay their respects, including Mrs. Butterworth, Hungry
Jack, the California Raisins, Betty Crocker, the Hostess Twinkies, and
Captain Crunch. The grave site was piled high with flours.
Aunt Jemima delivered the eulogy and lovingly described Doughboy as a
man who never knew how much he was kneaded. Doughboy rose quickly in
show business, but his later life was filled with turnovers. He was
not considered a very smart cookie, wasting much of his dough on
half-baked schemes. Despite being a little flaky at times, he still
was a crusty old man and was considered a positive roll model for
millions.
Doughboy is survived by his wife Play Dough, three children: John
Dough, Jane Dough and Dosey Dough, plus they had one in the oven. He
is also survived by his elderly father, Pop Tart. The funeral was held
at 3:50 for about 20 minutes.

I got a little time to work on the RR today. A new Mountain was Created in Big Rock. Some new flowers were set around the mountain and some Farm Land put to good use. Also the first of 9 Grain Bins was set in place for the Sheller Feed Co, "Pictures posted under the Sheller Feed Link". A new Road was built that will go past Sheller Feeds and on into Big Rock. More on this at the "Sheller " Link. At this point Big Rock is about 2/3rds finished. Big Rock is by far the largest Town and has taken the longest to Finish due to the amount of buildings, roads, and tons of fill needed for this area.....

Before the rain started, i got Signal 991 installed on the West Side of Big Rock Curve. The 991 signal is a 3 light signal. An Electric Junction box was installed under the signal for Local wire connections in that area. And then the RAIN..... Started!!
The area around signal 991 is looking like it's gonna be a good place to railfan. It is just past the rocks in the curve and offers a nice level area for some video work or some nice pictures in the curve.
After the Rain stopped, i did get some new videos. I posted them Below...

Another 42' of track down and tested yesterday afternoon, all worked well. The grade out of Cheerytree to Big Rock was a bit more than i really wanted. Most of the Grade was 2.5%, one 8' section turned out to be 3.5%. However, this will offer some realistic operating challenges with long loaded trains. I pulled the Grade with 17 cars, A Dash 9-44 CW up front and a U25-B at mid-train and it did ok. For longer trains, at least one more Dash 9 will be needed.
We are forecast good weather this week, with any luck i plan on moving dirt for fill around the Big Rock area. Pluming for the sprinkler system is scheduled for sometime this week also. The new 42' of track is going to require 4 water dranage pipe, they will be installed Tue: morning.

Today, Rain....Again! Working on Blog Page, moving pictures to their own page and can be found on the "Links to Pictures". Each area will have it own link to to the pictures in that area or building. This will allow for more pictures and ease of use.
I also worked on the curve around Big Rock. I used Brass Track and smoothed out the turn to better handle the longer modern rolling stock. I took the curve from 12' to 20' this will much improve the operation in the Big Rock area. Also repainted a hopper car and weathered it down to an old very used look. I posted pictures of it in the "Rolling Stock" Link.

Today i got around to posting the drawing and pictures of the feed mill. It will Be "Sheller Feed Co." served by the SP. This will be a BIG and Busy place in the Garden. Drawings are complete with measurment and "Proto" pictures. I had looked the internet over to find a mill that would fit the bill for what i needed, found this one that worked out well.. I am making a few changes by adding grain bins to serve modern center flow hoppers as well as box cars.
I added a link To the Right of this post for the Sheller Feed Co. that will be located at Big Rock.

Not raining today, not yet. Still too wet to work on the road. Cutting scale lumber today, will post more later today........Maybe.. I did get to add on to today's post. I have a working plan for the Feed Mill. It will be 24" wide & 48" long x 36" tall. I plan on 8 Grain Bins, each 4' tall x 6" around. The entire mill area including track & yard will be 10' x 6' in the layout at Big Rock. When finished, this will complete the "Big" buildings in Big Rock.

I didn't get any work done today on the RR, "RAIN" all day. I am working up plans for the feed mill, and construction will start on that soon. I want the Feed Mill to be a Large Building serving Rail, Truck and Local pickup for farmers and local live stock producers.

Today not alot of detailing was done. Another 8' section of "temp" retaining wall was set and leveled and some minor filling with dirt was done. With any luck, and the rain holds off by Sat: i should have that section filled with dirt. This area will support the feed mill and Grain Bins. I plan on the feed mill being a Big Industry with Large Grain Bins.
